We stock all our ponds with full-finned hard-fighting rainbow trout from a local hatchery. We demand the best fish which will provide you with the best sport. We are not concerned with fat, heavy fish as we know our regulars prefer fighting fish which will test their nerve. We stock with a variety of sizes from 1lb to 3lb depending on availability.
At Midmar Fishery we do not feed our fish once they are in the water, the abundance of insect life keeps them well fed and raring to go. As our fish are feeding on naturals it means that natural patterns tend to be the best option… though the odd lurid fluffy orange thing has been known to work just as well!
